Children encounters many physical stresses during their growing years. Surprisingly, the first sign of trauma to a child is the birthing process. Birth trauma can result in irritation to the nerve system by spinal and cranial misalignment which can cause many newborn health complaints. Colic, breathing problems, nursing difficulties, sleep disturbances, allergic reactions and chronic infections can often be traced to nerve system stress. Spinal nerve stress and/or vertebral subluxation or distortion of the spinal column, skull, hips and related tissue may irritate, stretch, impinge or interfere with the proper function of the nervous system. The nervous system controls the function of the body and interference can have a wide-ranging effect. Dr. Rhea will properly analyze the spinal column and related structures for balance and proper function. Where the spinal column is found to be functioning improperly, the Dr. Rhea will perform precise corrective procedures called spinal adjustments.
Using her hands and/or specialized instruments to gently and specifically correct those abnormal areas, the spine and cranium regain their intended state of balance and the nerve system is freed from stress.
